India’s Income Tax Law Dispute Resolution Mechanism consists of Assessing Officers, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), High Courts and the Supreme Court. As an alternative mechanism, the Authority for Advance Rulings, the Income Tax Settlement Commission (ITSC), and a Dispute Resolution Panel, Mutual Agreement Programe also forms part of the statute book.
